An antique large hanging scales with a brass front.

At the top, of the brass front reads: CHATILLONS IMPROVED SPRING BALANCE NEW YORK.

On the lower half of the right side are the weight in pounds numbers; these numbers are 0-96 (counting by eight.) Mixed in with the number are 100 lines, of various lengths, with each line representing one pound. All lines and numbers are stamped in below the surface.

There is considerable patjna on the piece. We have not tried to polish - being sold in as found condition.

Measures 12 1/2” and a width of 3”. The total length is almost 17 3/4”.

Scales like this were popular in the early 1900s.
